Meet Our Team

Josh Irvine, LPC
Mental Health Counselor (South Elgin office or telehealth)
Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, I know how vulnerable it can feel to reach out. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly heard, not judged—a place where we can work together at your own pace.

I work with children (ages 6+), teens, and adults navigating all kinds of challenges: anxiety, depression, grief, major life changes, ADHD, autism, and the everyday struggles that can feel anything but small. I believe everyone has strengths worth building on, and I'll meet you exactly where you are—no pressure to have it all figured out.
My approach is straightforward: you lead, I support.

Therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, not a one-size-fits-all prescription. With kids, I use play therapy and creative approaches that let them communicate in ways that feel natural. With teens and adults, I draw from evidence-based methods like CBT, TF-CBT, and DBT—but I'll never throw jargon at you. We'll focus on what actually helps: building coping skills, managing big emotions, and making real, lasting changes.

I earned my master's in Clinical Psychology and have years of experience working with people across various ages and backgrounds. But honestly, the most important part of my work isn't the credentials—it's showing up with empathy, patience, and genuine care.

Outside the office, you'll find me reading, spending time with family, or soaking up time outdoors. I'm a big believer in slowing down and staying connected—values I bring into my work with every client. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
