Karen Foreman, LCSW
Founder & Mental Health Counselor
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Geneva, IL. I have been practicing in the mental health field for over ten years. I work with children ages 12 and up, teenagers, individual adults, couples and families. I received my Masters of Social Work and Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Services degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I prioritize continuing my education through attending various workshops, lectures and trainings in order to enhance my abilities as a therapist.
I believe my role as your therapist is to use my knowledge and open-minded attitude to help you unlock the potential within yourself and your relationships. I realize how intimidating it can be to seek out help, which is why I am passionate about meeting you wherever you are on life's journey and tailoring my approach to fit your individual needs and personality.
You will learn to manage anxiety through developing efficient coping strategies. You'll also improve your interpersonal relationships by practicing more effective communication. Lastly, because you will be equipped with the skills necessary to feel healthier and happier, your self-esteem and confidence will soar, making transitions in life less intimidating.
When I am not in the office seeing clients, you can find me enjoying nature with my husband and dogs, watching my nieces' soccer games, or trying out a new restaurant!

Johannah Olson, LSW
Mental Health Counselor
I am a Licensed Social Worker who is passionate about helping clients from all walks of life. I realize that people have many challenges and stressors throughout life and it is important to have someone to talk to who is trained to help in an objective manner. If you need someone to help you process issues and overcome challenges, you are in the right place.
I can help teach you skills to better manage anxiety, depression, feeling overwhelmed, and many other every day issues. The non-judgmental and supportive guidance I will provide allows you to openly express yourself without feeling on edge or overwhelmed. If you are not quite sure what you want to work on, but know that you want to feel empowered and supported in your journey towards mental health, I am here to help.
In my work with clients, I also focus on how the past and present events in your life factor into current stress and challenges. This allows us to better understand ways to improve your functioning and reduce distress in a manner that works best for you, because everyone has unique needs.
I have experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, grief, trauma, low self-esteem or are looking for help managing anger or stress. I work with tweens, teens, and adults.
Specific therapy approaches I use include Strengths-Based Practice, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Practice, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Empowering Approaches.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing with my Goldador, and traveling around the United States.

Karen Beeson, LSW
Mental Health Counselor
I am a licensed social worker based in Geneva, Illinois. I completed my Master of Social Work degree at Aurora University.
Some clients come to therapy to work on specifics, while others bring a less particular notion of what they hope to achieve. Together we will explore and identify obstacles and develop a plan to take you where you wish to be. In the process, it is my privilege to create a safe and comfortable space for you to feel heard and supported.
I work with pre-teens, teens, adults, couples, and families. My clients come to me to address concerns related to depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, grief, parenting, career concerns, social skills, life transitions and relationships.
Respect for your unique identity, perspective and goals remains at the forefront as we work together. Some goals expressed by my clients include increasing self-awareness, confidence, self-esteem and emotional regulation, while broadening their base of coping and communication skills.
My process centers on your needs. I incorporate aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, strengths based practices and attachment based therapy. I am dedicated to my continuing education and the advancement of my knowledge of mental health theories, practice, and treatment.
I bring to your session additional pertinent personal and professional experiences ranging from parenting to the fields of education and professional development. Outside of the office I enjoy painting, reading, exploring cultures new to me, and spending time with my college-aged sons.
I offer morning, afternoon, and evening appointments, either in person or virtually. I welcome you to get in touch to begin your journey toward the life you want, personal growth and increased happiness.
